The Center for Social Policy is a partner for the “Youth on Watch: Standing for and Promoting Human Rights by Students’ Parliaments” project, implemented by the Centre for Education Policy, with the aim of empowering student parliaments (SP) from 16 secondary schools across Serbia to stand for, promote and protect human rights and democracy, including advocacy for social inclusion through education.
The schools and SPs to be selected by way of an open call will receive comprehensive support through mentorship, training for students and school staff, and support in planning student parliament actions. The project will also involve relevant stakeholders at the local community level - representatives of local self-governments and civil society organisations.
Project participants will have the opportunity to raise their capacities in the field of human rights protection and thus contribute to the overall welfare and social cohesion of environments where the status of youth is further hampered by the material situation and discrimination based on any grounds.
Through the implementation of project activities, the project team will develop material available to all student parliaments, along with recommendations for raising youth participation through strengthening the role of student parliaments, based on lessons learned.
The project is funded by the European Union.
