The Center for Social Policy (CSP) joins the general strike on January 24, 2025, and fully supports the demands of the students who are calling for accountability for the tragic accident in Novi Sad, in which 15 people lost their lives and two others were severely injured with permanent consequences.
This accident is not only a human tragedy but also a reminder that institutions must fulfill their responsibilities and take accountability for protecting the lives and safety of citizens. CSP believes that all those responsible for this tragedy must be appropriately punished and that urgent, concrete measures must be taken to prevent similar accidents in the future. Trust in institutions and justice forms the foundation of any democratic and free society. Only through accountability, transparency, and the effective functioning of institutions can we ensure safety and justice for all.
