The Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit of Government of Serbia initiated the exchange of good practices in different social sectors. The CSP has designed an adapted methodology similar to the EU Peer Review process and organized Serbian Peer Reviews on the following topics: Evidence based policies at local level; Long term care; Support programmes for Roma population; Employment of the vulnerable groups; Activation of the beneficiaries of social assistance; E-government; Support to work of Inter-sectoral Committees; Financing of the social welfare services; Cash benefits for families with children; Pro-poor policy measures.
A total of 8 peer review events were organized, involving around 350 representatives from 110 Serbian municipalities. For each peer review the invitation to all municipalities were sent with a questionnaire for presenting good practice. Then, the criteria were set and for each peer review appraisal committees (consisting of relevant national and local level stakeholders) selected good practices according to criteria. In addition to the organization, consultancy support and facilitation of all peer reviews, as a result of the process, the following brochures were produced: Evidence based policy making at local level, Homecare services for elderly and Policies and measures for improving the position of Roma at local level.
